“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

We believe that young kids have the energy and creativity to do things differently in this lifetime. With the right guidance and support, The Bare Necessities Project hopes that the vulnerable children of the Eastern Cape can become influential leaders of positive change.

The Bare Necessities Project was founded in November 2016

OUR VISION is to encourage young adults to get into the habit and spirit of giving consistently, and to encourage them to think of how they can make a difference in other people’s lives.

OUR MISSION is to assist young children in childcare facilities/child headed homes and within disadvantaged communities.

We partly rely on generous donations from the general public by creating awareness and rallying for support.

The Bare Necessities Project plans to help the communities of the Eastern Cape by independently sourcing donations on behalf of these entities.

During Nov/ Dec 2016, we collected clothes for over 70 children living in the KWT Child Care facility. The support we received from the public was overwhelmingly positive . We were able to deliver the clothes to the children and share some Christmas spirit with them.
In December 2017, The Bare Necessities Project donated clothes, books and educational toys to the Amantinde Isibindi Safe Park. The safe park was founded in 2005 and is a centre that assists vulnerable children situated in Tyutyu Village 5kms outside King Williams Town.
